Hello all! Welcome to The Simple Servant. My name is Jordan and I am the face behind the blog. (*Insert awkward smile and wave here!) I’m going to take this opportunity to tell you more about me, what I do and why!
I told you it was awkward. No filter, I’m keeping it real here, guys. So anyway, my primary job in life is my role as a wife and mother. I have two
crazy sweet kiddos and one rockin’ husband. He’s a much cooler person than I am, so I try to stick close by so some of that may rub off on me. Ha! We are in the process of becoming certified foster care parents, so we hope our family may grow again soon!
Writing is something I have enjoyed doing since college. I can be painfully shy and I absolutely HATE being the center of anyone’s attention (Okay, except for my husband’s 😉), but writing gives me freedom to share thoughts and speak my mind without the pressure of having any eyes on me. Hooray for the internet!
My purpose for this blog is to use my passion to honor and glorify God. For years, I enjoyed writing but never wanted to share my thoughts with people. I was terrified to get something wrong, and I didn’t want to be a source of friction for anyone. (Things can get pretty hostile behind a computer screen, you know.) I pray that this little space on the internet is a place of peace and comfort — a place that will point me, and you, back to our most important priority, Christ.
I named this blog The Simple Servant because I need constant reminders that my role on this earth is to serve. See, I’m a dreamer at heart and I can fall hard for hustle culture. I find myself wrapped up in my own desires and ambitions all. the. time. Trying to be better, trying to be more accomplished by worldly standards. Let’s just say I am so, so thankful for a God who calls be back and reminds me why I’m here!
Simply put, the simple servant is who I want to be. To hear God say the words to me “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” This life isn’t about how many views I get or how insta worthy my dinner was, it’s about becoming a humble servant. You were blessed to bless others, for it’s not ours to keep, but ours to give.
Okay, it’s your turn. Comment below and tell me a little about yourself. I’d love to get to know you! 🙂
